Creative Gift Ideas for Everyone on your List
We have all felt the struggle of buying for that one person on our list that is absolutely impossible. Well I am here to ease your gift giving stress today with some creative gift ideas for everyone on your list! One of my tried and true gift giving tips is to make a list of each person’s hobbies and interest to help guide your gift giving (and spending). Once these hobbies and interests are listed out, I find that it gets my creative juices flowing. For some helpful Christmas budget ideas check out our post on Christmas on a budget. Creative gift ideas do not have to be expensive! Hopefully you will find inspiration and make this year’s gift giving a little less hair pulling.

The Chef
Whether you have someone that is just starting in the kitchen or is an avid kitchen enthusiast there are always a ton of ideas to impress them. Every year there are new kitchen gadgets hitting the store shelves and it is always exciting to get the latest and greatest, but often times these gadgets ultimately go unused. So why not get them something they will use nearly daily in the kitchen, but make it a little more creative? Handmade cutting boards are not only a useful but also a beautiful addition to any kitchen. Check out the one I purchased my husband for our fifth anniversary. What is even better is I bought local. Always a win in my book.
Purchasing local not only helps small businesses within your community, it also keeps the product unique. Anyone can buy from big box stores so it increases your chances of others having the same thing. Who wants that? Buy local and keep it creative and unique!
The Homesteader
With homesteading and sustainable living becoming a more common goal for folks nowadays, you are bound to have a homesteader on your list. The homesteader is interested in how to make their land work for them in order to build a sustainable future for their family. The gifts you could buy for this person are endless! However there are a few things that I recommend for your homesteading friend.
Books on homesteading, preserving, or gardening are always an easy go to. Homesteaders often value learning, are open to trying new ways of doing things, and are taking it one day at a time. Many did not grow up on a farm and do not have aspirations to make their little plot of land into a fully functioning commercial farm. What they want and need is knowledge on how to farm and homestead on a smaller scale. Books like the “Encyclopedia of Country Living” or “Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving” are only just a few of the wonderful books available for homesteaders.
If you are looking to spend a little more on your homesteader, I recommend a good pair of Muck Boots. These have saved me from cold, wet, muddy feet more than once when feeding our calves. They can be a little pricier, but they are definitely a homesteader’s and farmer’s best friend in the chilly muddy muck of a field or garden in the winter or after a hard rain.
The Entrepreneur
All small and large business owners have one thing in common, the need to advertise. Help your entrepreneur this Christmas season start the new year off right with a boost for their advertising with a custom tee- shirt with their company logo. Nearly everyone wears a tee-shirt now and then, and they are likely to wear it even more when it has their company logo on it. There are tons of places to get custom tee-shirts made, but again we went local with a small business and were very happy with our purchase. Your entrepreneur just not a tee-shirt fan? Advertising comes in all shapes and sizes, show your support of their business with new business cards, logoed coffee cups, or hats. The possibilities are endless and your giftee is sure to be thrilled with your creative and thoughtful gift.
The 9 to 5’er
This giftee can usually be found at the office or working from home. They are highly efficient and love their work. They have few hobbies outside of work, unless you count checking work emails. They love a good schedule and prefer to work extended hours eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the office. For someone so busy how do you possibly find anything creative to give them? In this case I recommend making the practical creative with a customized calendar. There are tons of services that offer great products like Shutterfly and Snapfish. This calendar filled with family fun will keep your office giftee in the loop with what is going on in the outside world.
Calendar not their style? Another great gift to give your office buddy is the Whiteboard notebook. This is the gift that literally never quits giving. I come from a world of whiteboards and this gem is not only convenient to write down the awesome ideas, it is also a saver of trees. Just snap a picture of your board and upload it to your phone or computer!
The Wonderer
We all know that one person that just seems to never stay in one place. That person who may be in West Virginia today and California tomorrow. This free spirit may never settle down which can make it difficult to buy for them beyond gift cards. This year buy them something that they will be able to keep with them where ever they may wonder, with a portable car jump starter and battery pack.
This little beauty is small enough to slide under a car seat or carry in a bag (although it is a little heavy). It is a great option for those who never sit in one place and need an extra spurt of battery power for laptop, phone, or car. I have and use the Halo Bolt Compact and love it. It comes in a ton of different colors and patterns so you can make it fit your wonderers personality.
The Hobbiless Homebody
This year we have all become a bit of a homebody, but you know that person I am referring to. No really pronounced hobbies other than staying at home. They may cook from time to time, and they like to be a little crafty, but all in all they are not opposed to a day spent on the couch bingeing Netflix. So what do you get this hobbiless homebody? My suggestion is a great handmade quilt or blanket. Who doesn’t love to snuggle with a great blankie while watching those hours of Netflix. Throw in some hot chocolate mix and a sweet mug and you have a winning Christmas gift that they will get hours of enjoyment out of.
The Organizer
The organizer is someone I aspire to be. I am very organized in some ways and a hot mess in others. Here are some great gift ideas for the organizing guru. My personal favorite is the bullet journal. This is my favorite organizational tool. I have been bullet journaling for over two years and I am able to organize my entire life in one little book. It is structured yet flexible, practical yet creative. If your organizer already has a favorite bullet journal, fun pens, markers, or pencils are always a good choice.
I hope some of these ideas spark inspiration for your hard to buy for giftee this holiday season. Happy shopping and Happy Holidays!
