Christmas is my favorite time of year. There is so much joy and magic in the air. But it can also be a really busy time full of things to do and places to go.
As much as I love to be in the kitchen baking, sometimes with all the other things, it isn’t feasible to spend the day in the kitchen baking. Sometimes your husband tells you Saturday morning about the party that you have to go to on Saturday evening. Oh and he promised you would bring a dish.

Serve it alongside some red berries for an extra festive feel and burst of flavor!
Sourdough Discard Chocolate Cake
This is the time of year for active sourdough starter to be sitting on the kitchen counter. I am always looking for new ways to use up the discard because I hate being wasteful.
I came across this recipe last week and knew it was a must make for the Ugly Christmas Sweater party that was coming up. It was such an easy cake to pull together and made one of the most moist and delicious chocolate cakes I have ever had!
I threw in some chocolate chips to give it a little extra something and boy was it good!
Pecan Cream Cheese Pumpkin Roll
Pumpkin roll is one of my husband’s favorite desserts, and that is saying along because he doesn’t really like sweets!
This pumpkin roll boast a little surprise with finely chopped pecans in the creamy filling, giving it a nice textural contrast that you may not get with other rolls.
